HOW TO KEEP YOUR ENVIRONMENTS PEST FREE

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a safe, economical and effective method of controlling
problems with pests which in turn protect the health of people and the environment
ambient. IPM combines multiple tactics that are the most effective and least toxic
by preferably using preventive measures and other alternatives to pesticides. If used
a pesticide, it should be the least dangerous and whose target is only the pest that is
causing the problem. Using an IPM approach is more likely to be cost effective
and that results in long-term pest control compared to utilization
of conventional pest control practices. It is also less dangerous for health
human.

Pests enter homes and buildings in search of food, drink, and shelter. There is no
a single solution that can solve all your pest problems. These are some
preventive steps that can help you stop pest problems before they
start:
1. Eliminate food. Store food in hard, reusable containers that have a
lid that closes well; keep trash in a covered bin and take out the trash with
frequency; clean up crumbs and water spills whenever they occur, if possible
keep food in the fridge.
2. Remove the water. Fix leaks and water leaks from pipes, faucets and
ceilings; reduce humidity in basements and other damp areas of the house such as
bathrooms and kitchens; where possible place metal screens in gutters.
3. Delete the shelter. Avoid clutter and accumulation of things; seal cracks and
indentations with silicone caulk and copper mesh where appropriate; fix or
repair broken window screens; do a maintenance of
gardens and other areas outside the home; take out the trash, trim trees, shrubs and
cover plants so that they are not in contact with the house or building.
4. Talk to your neighbors about pest control. Pests do not stay in one
place, therefore they must work together to minimize problems with pests
in
your community.
